  • Hello Jogjayo,

I appreciate if you please show me the screenshot what you are talking about.
If you just see the page source code from your browser, then don’t think about it. Its normal. No one can access your site by seeing this from your page source code.

Just ensure all of your site data is properly sanitize.

    Thanks.

This is public information and withdrawing access to it would remove the styles and functionality of your website. Where did you read that it was sensitive?

    Hi,
It is normal. Your data is in database which can’t be hacked by this way. Moreover, no one can ever see your php code by this too. So, you are safe from all the vulnerabilities.
You can stop google from indexing this folder by editing robots.txt which works as a rule for search engine.
Add this code to that if it already doesn’t exists.

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-content/themes/

Good Luck and keep using wordpress forever ??

    Thank you

    Hello Jogjayo,
Don’t worry about this. Its just google indexing.
You can improve your SEO keyword and check you site ranking.
    Thanks.

    Hi jogjayo,

One other user of the Enfold theme you are using on your website asked a similar question. Please see this link for details … https://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-theme-folders-indexed-on-google/

To block content from Google search results: https://support.google.com/webmasters/topic/1724262?hl=en&ref_topic=3309469

    Hope these help!

    Hello Jogjayo,

I appreciate if you read below article for your site SEO and robot.txt
If helps you for your site SEO and you can learn more about SEO.

    Thanks.

I have never seen a (proper) site listing theme files in Google Search.

A well done theme will not allow access to theme files by bots – there is a well known method of how that is done.

I suspect your theme is not from official channels.

And no, it does not help search. How a site is indexed is one thing, how that site is then found in search is quite another. Useless content in the index will make your site not found in search – well maybe on page 1,526,589,123…

You have exposed index.php files throughout, and likely those files have redirects not detected by the search bots, but would occur for folks with old browsers – a common hack.

Many are also new as they are not listed in Google Cache.

    Hi jogjayo,
It won’t impact on seo if you disallow theme folder. Because it doesn’t have got anything to do with seo. This would only disallow theme to index that folder, so that it doesn’t show files of that folder while searching anything in the site.

    Thank you ??

This would only disallow theme to index that folder, so that it doesn’t show files of that folder while searching anything in the site.

The files are already indexed. Simply changing a line in your robots.txt file does not change that fact.

    @ Google Search use site:inbirdnest.com/

The issue is not simply a robots.txt file, which, BTW, is simply a recommendation to robots on how to index your site.

None of this would have happened with a properly done site and theme.
