• Hi
i discovered that all users can login into my website through (https://www.mydomain/com/wp-content) and download some pics to their sites
is there anyway to lock that thing OFF ?

    and one morething please
in that folder (wp-content) i have many pics and i want to make them in sub-folders (lets say each month has its folder)

it will work normaly with my site ?

  • May be you can change the chmod ?

    Open notepad.
    Type “No thanks !”
    Save as ‘index.html’
    Upload into wp-content
    That should sort the problem.

Your host should also offer a way to prevent directory listing when an index file is not present.

Thansk alot it is working OK

but what about the sub-folders ?

as i said i need to set sub-folders for older pictures

    can i do that ?

Just put the same index.html in each.

Mail your support and ask them to close that hole too.

Yeah, you should be able to set up a “no hotlinking, no downloads” thing through your host’s cPanel or whatever you have.

Good luck – I’ll bet your bandwidth use will drop when the holes get plugged!
