wp-config.php file permissions keep changing to 200

  • Hi,

    My website kept getting an error and I have worked out it is because wp-config.php keeps getting its file permissions changed to 200. This happens every 5 minutes or so. I took the drastic measure of deleting everything in my domain folder and then just putting a wp-config.php in a wordpress folder. It still happened.

    I change the name of the folder my domain pointed too and still it happens.

    Any thoughts on what might be happening?

    I am using Ionos to host my websites. Is it possible that another domain folder is causing changes in this one?

  • Did you ever find a solution? I am having the same issue as well, but with capabilities.php. After a few calls to IONOS, no joy. It appears that they are flagging the file and disabling my website due to one of their automatic scans.

    Please let me know if you found a solution.
