wp-config.php changes and .htaccess changes warning in Step 4 of 4

    I just followed this article

    trying to migrate my WP site from my harddrive to Cloudways server. The latest version of duplicator is kind of different from this article and i can follow up to Step 4 in this article only. After that, I just kind of went along the process. At the end of “Step 4 of 4 Test Site” of Duplicator, all are good but with 2 warning:

    Review this sites front-end or re-run the installer and go back to step 1
    Please validate wp-config.php changes and .htaccess changes

    This is already my second try, both ended up the same warning.

    I did what the article instructed and deleted wp-config in public_html folder form the WP app in Cloudways server and drop all tables in database before the migration process. Then in every step of the process, I got “pass” and “good” without any irregularity and I just kept clicking on “next” basically but got this warning in the last step.

    So should I worry about the wp-config.php changes and .htaccess changes?

    Changes to the wp-config and .htaccess files are expected. Unless you are having issues with your site, you should be to go.

    Hey Cory,

    Thanks for the reply. I’m not sure if this is related, since I migrated my site to their server, when trying to install plugins in WP plugin repo from backend admin, it always showed “installation failed.” Do you think this is possibly related to the wp-config and .htaccess changes or related to the migration?

    Their tech support couldn’t figure it out and escalated my ticket to the upper level.

    Hey @cmgf,

    Typically that would be related to a server permissions issue. I would have the tech check the permissions on the plugins folder to be sure the PHP process can write to that path.
