I’m doing a new install on GoDaddy and have run into an error on the wp-config file. This has never happened to me before —- and I’ve done dozens of installs on GoDaddy. This is my first install using 2.8.5 by the way.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in ... /wp-config.php on line 28

Line 28 on the config file is the hostname. My editor shows one part of the hostname, a 7-digit numeral, in a different color, which indicates an error or something. I’ve double-triple checked the name. It’s in this format:

    databasename.db.0000000.hostedresource.com

The ‘0000000’ seems to be the culprit if my text editor is telling me the truth.

I’ve never seen GoDaddy hostnames in this format before. Anyone else see something odd with this, or have any advice?

    Thanks.

    Never mind folks.

My text editor was doing something screwy and messing something when I went to save. It said I had wrong syntax, when it was right. I rebooted it and it cooperated.
