WP-Commerce Images Upload Directory not writable problem

I get this message on the add new products page.

The following directories are not writable:

* /home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress//home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/downloadables/
* /home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress//home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/previews/
* /home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress//home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/product_images/
* /home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress//home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/product_images/thumbnails/
* /home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress//home/hangerth/public_html/pagestock/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/category_images/

You won’t be able to upload any images or files here. You will need to change the permissions on these directories to make them writable.

I looked at the directory, and the specific folders that were mentioned were not created. So I created them, and for testing purposes, I set them all to 777. Still got the same message. I have deactivated, and re-activated the plugin, and still no go. Anyone have any solutions?
