WP Clone Not Creating Backups Any More

    I’ve been using WP Clone for a while now and rarely had any problems. Though recently I’ve found most sites won’t let the backup even create. Or when restoring they miss half the site off.

    I have been reading the other posts on this issue and I confirm I have checked the following:

    php version 5.6
    Site size 274.12 MB
    No log being created as far as I can see because no backup being created.
    Used both the ‘normal’ and advanced options.
    Clicked on the ‘Scan & repopulate’ button.

    I do not get any errors, I get a 404 page. Occasionally I get a “The connection was reset” error.

    I am on my 6th attempt at backing up a particular site. The process takes several minutes and the page title says ‘Connecting’. Then fails.

    I hit the ‘Scan & repopulate’ button again and 3 backups with today’s date suddenly appeared. There are no logs for any of them. I downloaded one and it only has the DB in it.

  • logs won’t show up with scan and repopulate (that was an oversight on our part). do you have ftp access? there should be some logs in your backup folder.

    I do have ftp access, but not sure what to look for?

    hi, Friends. For me is the same, some months ego, the pluging dont work again, and I get de 404 page, file no found!! ?? some one can fix it?.. Tks!.

    In the end I started using ManageWP and their new version of the software, called Orion, works almost every time. If it doesn’t then support move the site for you anyway.

    It’s not free but for what you get, cloning is only a tiny part of it, it is worth it ??
