• I love this plug-in and I often use it when I want to build a WordPress site on a temporary URL and then move the site over to its actual URL once it has been fully built and tested.

Recently I did this with a couple of sites and I found it did not duplicate everything. Some of the text was missing on some of the Pages I created as well as a few pictures were not copied over from the media library.

This has happened to me with more than one WP site so when I use it now I am really careful to keep the beta site running on its test domain until I go through the new site that I created using WP Clone and I make sure that all the content is fully there.

Has anyone had this same problem as well?

  • I’m experiencing the same problem. I’ve been using for a long time with no issues but now it’s randomly truncating things.

Jixxer, did you ever figure this out?

No I didn’t I am sad to say and have not received any feedback on this issue.

What I do now is I also use Updraft to backup my sites periodically knowing this is not a reliable plugin anymore. But for cloning I have not found a good solution.

Duplicator works well, but it has some issues where you have to manually create a database and all that. This plugin was much better when it was working right.

I am having the same issue.

It copies most, but for instance the footer it doesn’t apply the right settings and so on.

Other tools do, but they aren’t as smooth as WP-Clone used to be.

    Any thoughts?
