WP Cerber repeatedly flagged after ignored

    Hey guys,

    Why does WordFence keep flagging a critical error for Cerber Security after I have repeatedly asked it to ignore it? I now have several entries in each of my ignore lists but WF keeps flagging it regardless.

    It makes the WF scans difficult to read at a glance as they are all full of critical issues. Cerber Security is now being updated outside of WP so I think you can remove this warning for any version from 9.3 onwards?

    If you’re ignoring the result and it keeps returning, that might be because the file keeps changing, which would make sense if its a plugin.

    Would you mind sending me a diagnostic so I can have our Threat Team have a look at this issue?

    Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Hi @wfadam

    Many thanks for the reply. It could be that every fresh update of Cerber gets flagged again, but there are no known issues with the most recent versions. It’s just not on WordPress at the moment. There are plenty of plugins that aren’t on WP that don’t get flagged. I understand there was an earlier version that may have had an issue, but can you remove the flags ‘removed from WordPress’ for the newer versions?

    Hi guys,

    Can you please look into fixing this. The issue is simple – every time another version or WP Cerber is released, Wordfence flags it as critical problem:

    Critical Problems:

    • The Plugin “WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan” has been removed from www.remarpro.com.

    We know it has been removed from WordPress, but it is receiving regular updates and the security warning is for previous (old) versions. Some sites I have now whitelisted WP Cerber 4 times and still Wordfence sends a critical error with each Cerber update.

    It’s starting to appear as though Wordfence is attempting to persuade folk to ditch Cerber Security?
