• Hi all, my WP editor is crushed. Whenever I need to edit a post, it shows”?“The editor has encountered an unexpected error.”. Does anyone experience the same issue? How do I solve it? Thanks!

    Hi @pigcanfly,

    Have a look at your server error logs to se if there is anything that sticks out there.

    Also, when issues like this happen, try disabling all the plugins for the site and trying again. If it works, continue to enable a single plugin 1 at time until the error happens again. This is always my first go to. If that does not work and you are using a custom theme, try activating a default theme.

    If you still can’t seem to track down the issue, check the browser console when the error is happening and it may have some JS errors that may lead to some clues as well.

    Feel free to provide any of the errors you find. Just be sure to remove any identifying stuff like IP addresses before posting them.

    Hi, Justin Greer?(@justingreerbbi), thank you for the reply! I reached out to my hosting company, Bigscoots. They rolled my Block editor to Classic editor now. They recommend I wait for a couple more WP updates until the bug is clear. It is frustrating because I cannot add certain blocks with the classic editor. ??

    That stinks. So I take it that the issue is with their system and not WP directly then?

    Did they happen to share the “bug” with you? It would be nice to pass the issue to the core team so they can investigate.

    I know! No, they did not share the “bug ” with me. They just mentioned that” Many people have been affected throughout the past and even now. That is one of the reasons why the classic editor is still available.”.

    I did not even know I could do that. (pass the issue to the core team). And I think that is a good idea, and I will do that! Thanks again!

    Bugs making it to the core release like this are very unlikely which is why I am curious as what the issue actually is. Makes me feel like the issue may be with their service but who knows.

    I would def get a response. from them on the bug they are saying and then share it here or submit a report to the core team.
