• WHen I installed WPDB manager plugin:

    Warning:
    Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public

    “To correct this issue, move the .htaccess file”
    – which I have to from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager to D:/Hosting/5451244/html/wordpress/wp-content/backup-db

    Where do I do this?

  • @gfactor,

    If you go into your file manager behind your Cpanel and copy the file as per instructions that come with the plugin. From memory you will need to rename it to .htaccess after the copy as the original copy has a .txt extension.

    Thanks.

    Is the CPanel at the hosting site or WP admin panel?
    e.g. if site is hosted at GoDaddy for example?

    @gfactor,

    Cpanel is something Host related. File Manager will be an option somewhere on your Cpanel – should be fairly obvious. I have never used GoDaddy so I’m not much help there.

    Thanks.

    Godaddy has the file transfer option.
    I move the file and changed the name to htaccess.htaccess ??
    Must it be a .txt file or .htaccess file extention?
    In the video tutorial I have – they just use FileZilla and moved the txt file.

    My dashboard still has the warning message.

    @gfactor,

    “htaccess.htaccess” is incorrect. Needs to be “.htaccess”.

    filename is .htaccess – nothing infront of the . ?

    Interesting – this must be a access file vs the .txt file originally?

    @gfactor,

    I just checked.

    The original file is called: “htaccess.txt”.

    Once copied – you need to rename it to “.htaccess”
