I’m having trouble with the built-in Word Press Audio Player. I’m using Word Press 4.0.

My issue with the audio player is that it always adds a lot space before the first player. Here is an example – https://www.culturesofsoul.com/?p=1943&preview=true

But there is no code in the post to do this. How do I fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you’ve posted a link to a preview of the page/post, that will throw a 404 error as it’s not a real page/post until you publish it if that makes sense…

thanks. try re-inserting that single track, for some reason it seems to be adding in a conditional statement to test for internet explorer version numbers and that appears to be giving the div that contains the audio player a height of 918px!

if that works, great if not let us know and we’ll have a think about it…

I tried that and it still didn’t change anything.

when you view it in text edit mode in do you see any odd code in there?

    I don’t. Just <div></div>

if there’s nothing between those two <div> tags then try deleting them from the post and see what happens.

It always seems to add that space to the first track inserted every time I try and audio to a post. I’ve tested it a few times. How do you change the height of the audio player then?

    jack randall

    (@theotherlebowski)

the audio player isn’t creating the height as far as i can tell, for some reason there’s a sneaky bit of javascript that’s being inserted in there.

in the text editor, after your 1. Marcos Valle etc is there anything before the link to the audio file? it’s showing on the site in the code that there’s an extra <div> around the player that doesn’t have to be there and that looks to be the issue.

I’ve tried deleting the <div> and it doesn’t seem to work.

It seems like something is screwing with my paragraphs all around. I add a paragraph in the visual end and it doesn’t show up when I post.

what version of wordpress are you using? what other plugins are on your site?

    4.0

I have WP Audio Player and Audio Player installed but both are deactivated

    Also I have:
    Akismet
    Google Analytics
    Google XML Sitemaps
    GRAND Flash Album Gallery
    Image Widget
    Mailchimp
    RSS Icon Widget
    Share This
    Social Media Widget
    SoundCloud Shortcode
    ThisIsMyJam Widget

try deleting the deactivated plugins, they may not be active but they could still be causing problems…

delete the this is my jam widget, the developer hasn’t touched it for over two years!
image widget is only compatible up to 3.9.2
social media wiidget hasn’t been updated in over a year.
rss icon widget hasn’t been updated in over a year
soundcloud shortcode hasn’t been updated for months and is only compatible up to 3.8.3

try getting rid of those and see what happens…

I’ll try the ones I’m not using first. I really don’t to delete the ones I use.
