• A while back I decided to create a fansite for some bands I like with information and news. However I wanted the news page to be remotely updatable and also have categories and comments. Due to the fact I had no knowledge of PHP or MySQL whatsoever I decided to use a third party tool to take care of this for me, and luckily one day ran across WordPress which much to my pleasure is completely free. Fast forward several months and my site has now been open for a couple of months, is (mostly) completely, and successfully running WordPress for the news portion of the site

    WordPress things of interest:

    • Extremely customised theme
    • Using categories to style the news posts (restricts me to one category per post)
    • Feeds for categories have the category name in title and description for subtitle
    • Hand-converted Atom feed to 1.0
    • And the pièce de résistance: All in HTML 4.01 Strict

Commments, suggestions, and criticisms all welcome.
