• Hi,

Using WP as a CMS – many categories going to many pages on external website. One concern is if anyone actually went to the blog root (www.mysite.com/blogroot/ – they would see a conglomeration of all the posts of all the categories … I tried using a meta redirect to send back to our site homepage but that messed up the “Preview” in the editing mode – apparently the preview uses the index.php in the root directory. When I had the redirect in there the preview simply went to the redirect url.

Any ideas on this would be much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Daf

  • In Settings > Reading you can set the home page to be a static page instead of a blog page.

Ah – you know I had forgotten about that. I will check that out. May be able to use either a redirect or template in the page.php.

    Thanks for that info!

Now this is weird – but when I go to Settings > Reading and set the “Front page displays” to a static page it kills the <!–more–> feature. Why would that be?
