I am unable to access the /blog/wp-admin/install.php file as it tries to download rather than open it in the browser. I have updated the config file and uploaded all wordpress files to my server (3 times now). Have tried reinstalling all wordpress files, deleted my cache, redone my config file. Have just saved another php file type on my site and was able to open that through IE, so am assuming it is something to do with wordpress. Have also tried in firefox but still the same download box appears. Any help would be appreciated!

  • Might talk to your host.

If PHP files download instead of execute may need to add:
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

    to your httpd.conf file.

Thankyou. Found out that host does not support apache but they have a workaround which now has fixed my problem.

i am having the same problems, unfortunately my webhosting seems to lack good customer service. was in a chat with them and when i explained the problem the rep. logged off. i called and its busy.

is there any way to solve this without contacting the host? the site’s host is myhosting.com
