• Hi I left my site about a week now just functioning properly, did a backup and was just waiting for launch but since yesterday I have been unable to log into the dashboard. It just redirects/loops from wp-admin to wp-login and stays on the same page. I have run through the internet and tried every possible trouble shooting solution to no avail.
    1. cleared browser cache and cookies
    2. deleted the .htaccess file
    3. set the urls in the db
    4. delete the login.php file in case of corruption and replaced with original fresh wordpress file
    5. restored the site from a backup
    6. disabled all plugins
    7. changed the site back to the default theme

All of this and nothing. I even did a manual restore. Today I attempted to do a fresh install of wordpress and it froze on the wordpress wizard to set up the database and I noticed in the url there was ….wp-admin…it looped constantly from that point didn’t let me go further.

I am hosting with go daddy, I called them, they reset many things on the server but they said it doesn’t seem to be on their end. I have many other wordpress sites on different accounts all hosted with go daddy no other is giving this problem.

The front end shows fine (after re-enabling the plugins of course)

Can anyone assist me I am really stuck

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Never had this happen to me before but have you tried logging in via another browsers? If you are able to then obviously it’s the browser.

If still a problem then you might want to grab a fresh copy of the wordpress files from here and upload the wp-admin and wp-includes folders.

I only hope it’s that simple.

I tried using three different browsers unfortunately to no avail but I’m going to try the wp-includes and wp-admin folders from a fresh wordpress and get back to you on if it worked. Thanks for the suggestion ??

It’s very strange indeed. Do you have SSL? When I look at the initial admin login it states the site is insecure but the address still in http.

The only other option is to create a new database, install a fresh copy of WordPress to a different folder thus keeping the existing one intact. Once installed tell me if its functioning properly. If so, take a backup copy of your live database and import it into the new database and see if it still works or not.

Not sure what else to think of at the moment.

It is, that wasn’t happening before at all. and no, i do not have an ssl certificate but I read up that Chrome is now showing that for all sites without one. :/

Anyway, I had attempted to install a fresh WordPress before in a different folder and it stalled in the database wizard and kept looping just like when you attempt to login on the old site. Going to give it a try again and hope for the best. Will let you know what happens.

If I do try this and it doesnt work, I’m going to wipe the server totally and try a fresh install..Wish me luck. No idea what caused this, is causing this or will solve it but hoping this does.

Hi ok updates, I attempted a fresh install of wordpress and same thing, cant login to the dashboard, loops just as before. I am going to attempt to reset the server, then run a fresh install and let you know what happens. I hate that it has come to this.
