wp-admin page "reloading" upon log-in
-
Hello all,
I’m starting my job as a web designer today, and unfortunately there is no one else on staff where I work that can provide me with insight. I apologize in advance if this question has a simple fix, but I’ve already spent hours trying the answers I’ve found posted on this board. Without further ado:
I created a set of log-in credentials to be used on the site’s /wp-admin page using my boss’ computer. I can log-in fine using the boss’ computer, but neither my computer nor the other machine in the shop will redirect to the control panel once the correct credentials are entered. I know the site is validating my credentials because if I put in an incorrect password, it gives me feedback stating so. However, when I enter my information, the log-in page seems to reload with no feedback as to what went wrong (but my username still appears). The URL at this point reads:
https://<SITENAME>.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2F<SITENAME>.com%2F<SITENAME>%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1
where <SITENAME> is of course a placeholder I’ve used for the sake of this post instead of the actual URL. I’ve tried clearing my cookies and cache, as well as trying to access the page on the newest versions of Safari, Firefox, and Chrome (even in incognito). In addition, I used the same credentials for another website created in WP and hosted on GoDaddy, and they work fine.
It’s my first time, so please be gentle
