• Hello,
I have been struggling to get my site up and running. I purchased my domain name from wordpress and hosting from godaddy. I installed the wordpress app in my godaddy cpanel and uploaded the free www.remarpro.com “customizr” theme (extracted) in my file manager. I also changed my wordpress DNS to godaddy’s custom nameservers which they emailed to me.
My site is https://www.eatthegood.com. When I go there, all I see is a page with ads that says “this page is parked free, courtesy of wordpress.”
When I try to login to my wordpress admin panel, https://www.eatthegood.com/wp-admin/, it struggles to load and then says “this webpage is not available.” can’t access anything.
I checked my whois and the name servers are correct.
I changed it almost 2 hours ago. I have been trying to figure this out for a few months already. Always the same thing. I have played around with the nameservers since December. Can’t figure it out. What have I done wrong? Should I transfer my wordpress domain to godaddy?
I have seen other posts say to wait 2-48 hours, other say it should happen immediately. Which is correct?
    Thank you in advance.

also, I went to my godaddy DNS manager and next to my domain eatthegood.com it says pending transfer.. I think at some point I played with this too but don’t remember what I did, it was over a month ago.

I have the same problem right now, I finished correctly the instalation of wp-admin and it works, but suddenly disapears!! the website is working as a layout but it’s impossible to access to destkop.

the strange things is that it works at the first time and I dont change anything.

thank you, esmi… I hope someone can offer me some information, still trying to load my admin page and nothing, several hours later after my first attempt…

You need to look into your domain name transfer with your hosts.

can you explain more? why would I need to transfer, exactly? do you mean transfer my wordpress domain name to godaddy? I already paid for it on wordpress though so unsure of what I need to transfer? I’m honestly trying to figure this out by reading up and winging it so I don’t quite understand everything yet. I am not totally new to website creation, but new to wordpress.

why would I need to transfer, exactly?

    You said earlier:

next to my domain eatthegood.com it says pending transfer

so it would appear that the domain transfer has not been completed. You need to talk to your hosts about this.

I already paid for it on wordpress

WordPress does not accept any payments of any kind. Are you referring to your hosts or domain registrars

esmi — i purchased my actual domain name eatthegood.com from wordpress.com. not www.remarpro.com. i first set up a blog on wordpress.com for free and when i realized i could not install custom themes, i then paid for my custom url eatthegood.com. i paid like 28 dollars for the domain name and the security so people cannot access my personal information through whois.
then i actually purchased hosting on godaddy separately. i followed instructions to have my domain hosted on godaddy so i thought i was finished. i never actually transferred my url, eatthegood.com to godaddy because if i’m not mistaken, they will host domains purchased from other places like the one i bought.

i just realized what i had done that caused it to say pending transfer! i had NO idea what i was doing when i was playing around.
in my godaddy dns manager, i added “off-site dns” and i honestly didnt know what that meant. i assumed a few months ago it would have fixed my problem. should i cancel it?

i cancelled the off-site out of curiosity. seems like it hasn’t fixed anything but my domain was removed from the list in the dns manager and therefore nothing says “pending” anymore…

It make take up to 72 hours for the changes you have just made to propagate fully,. In the meantime, exactly how did you point your domain to your new self-hosted site?

thats quite a while but good to know.. i just saw other people having faster results so i thought i was still doing something wrong. but to be honest i don’t remember how i got it to work. i bought everything in november not realizing i would have such a problem. i may have set it up when i first purchased godaddy hosting.
this is what my account info page looks like:
i took a screenshot and uploaded it to my photobucket.

I purchased my domain with Go Daddy…I set up my host with Gator…did everything as I was told and it’s been 24 hrs and my new site/wp admin still won’t load?

Did you cancel the domain name re-direction at wordpress.com? If you cannot remember, I can only suggest that you contact them about this.

    how can I contact them?
