• Hi,

My Wp-admin log in page just went blank for no apparent reason.

I have looked and tried the older solutions to no avail. Even worse, before i started fixing, it was just that page that was blank…now my whole site is out!

    Heres what I did

I checked for white space atr the bottom of functions.php, wp-config.php, and some others I was suggested to check.

    No good.

Then I was adviced to download fresh WP and upload new WP Admin and WP includes folders.

    This killed the whole site.

    Please help!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

OK I have done that and I can now log in via WP-Admin

But my site is still completely blank.

What do I do now, Esmi

Thanks for all this help, btw

I see this message inside the dashboard:

Notice: has_cap was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.0! Usage of user levels by plugins and themes is deprecated. Use roles and capabilities instead. in /home/barryrod/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3551

    Should I auto update WP?

You should upgrade WP anyway as the last update was a security fix. I’d also suggest re-uploading a fresh, unpacked, copy of the Twenty Eleven folder to wp-content/themes using FTP.

I just changed the theme from the one I was using to defaul and the blog is now visible again.

Should I try re-uploading the theme again from my HD?

    I upgraded to latest WP,

But I still see this error in dashboard

Notice: has_cap was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.0! Usage of user levels by plugins and themes is deprecated. Use roles and capabilities instead. in /home/barryrod/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3551

    Dud you re-upload Twenty Eleven?

    (@barryrodgers)

Yes I just did that via FTP.

I am getting these error messages in the dashboard and 2 orf them on my site.

Notice: has_cap was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.0! Usage of user levels by plugins and themes is deprecated. Use roles and capabilities instead. in /home/barryrod/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3551

Notice: register_sidebar_widget is deprecated since version 2.8! Use wp_register_sidebar_widget() instead. in /home/barryrod/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3467

Delete the wp-includes folder and re-upload it from a fresh download of WP 3.3.2.

Just done that and the three errors are still visible.

I also added to my ticket to my hosting company. This affected 3 WP installations at the same time all on the same domain

    www[dot]domain.com
    www[dot] domain.com/blog 2
    www[dot]domain.com/blog 3

But it did not happen to any other WP installations under different domains on the same hosting account..

    Have you deactivated all plugins?

    Thread Starter barryrodgers

    (@barryrodgers)

Here are the errors for the subdomains:

The first one only has one error

Warning: base64_decode() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/barryrod/public_html/pwtlistbuildingbook/wp-content/themes/profitstheme_11/lib/init.php(1) : eval()’d code on line 1

    The other has these:

Notice: add_option was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.3 with no alternative available. in /home/barryrod/public_html/members/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3389

Notice: add_option was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.3 with no alternative available. in /home/barryrod/public_html/members/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3389

All three are either using a very dodgy theme or they may even have been hacked. ??

    Thread Starter barryrodgers

    (@barryrodgers)

Well, the theme is different. The main site uses the Multiple Threads Theme and the other two use Profits Theme. This is a very good theme for members sites etc.

    (@barryrodgers)

    The plug ins are deactivated.

Any clue as to what I should do next?

My main site is working again (although its lost a lot of the style stuff) and I can just turn off the error debug thing.

The other sites are another issue…how do I get those working?
