  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – re-running the upgrade via wp-admin/upgrade.php

websitementor, I hope this helps you. The new version also has a change in the database number. To fix this, you need access to phpMyAdmin . Once there…open your database for your blog. Look for the “wp_options” field. Click to open it. Look for “db_version” and perform an edit. Replace the current number there (should be five digits) with “19470”. Save it…and you will be back in business.

I know you have changed your site back already…but if others have the same issue…I hope this helps.

If you ever care to pay a visit… my site is https://www.gotworship.net . It is a site primarily for worship leaders.

    Hope this post helps you!

No, no NO! Do not change the db_version number manually! That is just asking for a whole heap of trouble in future.

esmi : would you help elaborate on what problems will arise in the future?

The database version number changes because the database structure itself has been changed. You simply cannot use (for example) a 3.2.1 db in a 3.3 install. It won’t work properly.
