wp-admin menu is sending to 404 error
-
I have 2 different sites on the same shared server which have started to send me to 404 error pages whenever I try to complete tasks in the wp-admin area of the website. I have scoured the internet with anyone who has experienced this same issue.
The only plugin these two sites share is Gravity Forms. I have tried deactivating…doesn’t work to adjust issue.
I have refreshed the permalinks with no success.
I have added Error Document message to top of 1 of the website’s .htaccess files. Someone discussed it might be a web server error.
I have tested .php and .html on the web server to make sure it isn’t a server error.
The error ONLY comes when I am working INSIDE the wp-admin area. I am not having issues viewing the Dashboard or logging in.
If I refresh my browser or go back, SOMETIMES I will see that my task was completed in spite of the error. Also, if I keep trying, eventually it somehow gets unstuck and lets me complete a task, like view a form entry.
I don’t know how to view the Rewrite rules for the admin area, but the frontend looks and works fine on both websites.
Anyone have other areas to check or experienced similar issues in the past? What am I missing?
