• On every page within the wp dashboard the Connection Information pages shows multiple times:
    https://prntscr.com/8avgwo
    https://prntscr.com/8avh2f

    I have tried:
renaming plugins folder and then changing back etc
renaming upgrade folder and then changing back etc
Changing permissions on plugins and upgrade folder etc
    Reuploading wp-admin and wp-includes

None of it solved the issue. The only thing that helped a little bit was adding “define(‘FS_METHOD’, ‘direct’);” to the wp-config file. This removes the Connection Information stuff, however no plugins, themes or wordpress itself will update or reinstall. I get the following error messages:
An error occurred while updating Master Slider Pro: Update package not available
    or
An error occurred while updating Easy Custom Sidebars: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thank you markusmcb for this hint.
Same problem here, from one day to another day, i was totally blocked because after wordpress login, only the “Connection Information Screen” was showing.

After deleting the directory “../wp-content/plugins/masterslider” everything worked.

Same thing here… Thanks for the tip… masterslider was causing the same issue here too…

Oh! This has been bugging me off and on for weeks! Master Slider was causing for me too.

I just had the same issue. Removing the ‘masterslider’ directory resolved the problem for me, as well.

    +1 @markusmcb
