WP Activity Log 4.4.0 keeps on creating and deleting “wsal_pruning-date” in DB

    Hello,

    I noticed that the 4.4.0 update of the plugin introduced a strange behavior.

    I monitor changes in the wp-option Database and observed that in this table, an entry named “wsal_pruning-date” keeps on being created and then immediatly deleted .
    Here is some extract of what I see :

    81547 ; date : 2022-03-21 10:11:47 ; changer : xxx@localhost ; action : INSERT ; row ID : 246711 ; name : wsal_pruning-date ; value : 6 months ; autoload : no

    I tried to change “Activity log retention” in the settings of WP Activity Log but it did not solve the problem.

    I also tried to load a site backup with WP Activity Log 4.3.6 and the problem wasn’t there. So I think the problem was really introduced with the 4.4.0 version.

    The problem is not critical but could indicate a deeper issue or could have a impact on performance.

    Have you seen the problem elsewhere or have ou an idea about how to solve it ?

    Thank you very much for using our plugin.

    We’ve looked at the code and we can confirm that there is an issue. However, this does not have an impact on performance, so I wouldn’t worry much about it.

    It will be fixed in update 4.4.2 of the plugin. Today or tomorrow we will be releasing 4.4.1 but now it is too late to fit in this fix. If you’d like a patch, please send us an email at support at wpwhitesecurity dot com so once we release update 4.4.1 we can send you a patched version of the plugin.

    I am glad to see that it will be fixed in a future release.
    Since it has no huge impact, I think we can wait until the 4.4.2 release.
