• When editing within WP to any of the 5 websites I am building, after 20mins or so I lose connection to the server and have to wait 30mins for the connection to be returned

I am told by my host provider that there are too many connections on my IP (100+) and so it is being automatically banned for 1800 sec

they have set the system up so that once the connection level has been exceeded, the ban comes into play and the server access resumed after 30 mins automatically for me

This only happens when in wordpress editing websites

    Any ideas?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Yes all of of that has now been done for every one of our websites and still our IP is being blocked for too many connections

Then you may need to work with your hosts to identify where these connections are coming from.

    IF ONLY
Just keep getting the same replies from them no matter what question I ask
But considering this only happens when editing within wordPress, thought it might be something someone here might have come across before – as there seems to be other people online who have had similar issues, but no forums seem to come up with the solution!

I have unblocked your IP on server firewall. You can try to access your site /WHM and confirm. You can check below area logs for your IP block.
    ——————————————————————-
    Temporary Blocks: IP:xxx.xxx.xxx.xx Port: Dir:inout TTL:1800 (lfd – (CT) IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xx (GB/United Kingdom/-) found to have 145 connections)
    ——————————————————————-

We have set the connection limit on the server and as per the logs you cross that limit. Your local machine creating more than 100 connections with the server and as per the security setting your ip blocked for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes your ip automatically unblocked. We know that you are facing this problem but if you want to solve this issue permanently then you need check your machine and uninstall unwanted browser plugins or addon. If you are using the email client then change the email read time from 1 minutes to 10 minutes. If any custom firewall is installed then update that settings. If you are using an old ftp client then use new latest ftp client to use the ftp service.

    Thanks and regards,

I’m not sure that this has anything to do with your sites. Are they perhaps referring to your FTP access?

All I am doing is basic editing within WordPress Themes – nothing more than editing and creating pages and blog posts

I’m sorry but I know of no reason why so many IP connections are being made.
