  • Bonjour cher compatriote,

Let’s switch back in English, so the folks can follow what we are writing.

Effectively, I’m using the Script Lightbox: prettyPhoto because this parameter is the one which best fits my Smartline Lite theme.

After further analysis, I have found a workaround for fixing my concern. I have discovered what was-is wrong with WP 4.4 and Responsive Lightbox.

    [caption id="attachment_1662" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://www.linuxrouen.fr/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/wordpress_logo_880x547.png"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1662" src="https://www.linuxrouen.fr/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/wordpress_logo_880x547-300x186.png" alt="WordPress : le plus populaire des CMS open source" width="300" height="186" /></a> WordPress : le plus populaire des CMS open source[/caption]

In the above [caption …..[/caption], before manual modification, it was missing the reference to the full size image. So, I have added it:
    <a href="https://www.linuxrouen.fr/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/wordpress_logo_880x547.png">.....</a>

And now it’s working, but Responsive Lightbox has to be updated by its developers to be fully compatible with WP 4.4.

    Hello,

Responsive Lightbox 1.6.5 has been updated today to 1.6.6 by dFactory and accordingly to its developers it’s supposed to be now fully compatible with WordPress 4.4.

I’m going to test it and see if my above problem has been fixed or not.

    Hello,

I have just tested the newest Responsive Lightbox 1.6.6 under WP 4.4.
UNFORTUNATELY it is still NOT fully compatible with WP 4.4
The problem I have mentioned with RL 1.6.5 in my 1st post is still true with RL 1.6.6!

dFactory is writing today in its site:
“1.6.6 Tweak: Confirmed WordPress 4.4 compatibility”

    This is NOT TRUE!
So, dFactory has still to update its Responsive Lightbox plug-in to make it FULLY compatible with WP 4.4.

    Thanks.

    @joe76000,

I don’t see any problem your images, at least here: https://www.linuxrouen.fr/wp/2015/11/23/bonjour-tout-le-monde/

The WP logo you mention triggers lightbox as expected.

The 4.4 introduced srcset to content images but this didn’t affect RL in our tests.

    Hello dFactory,

Thank you for your reply and interest.

So let’s restate what I’m observing.
Obviously, you cannot see TODAY anymore the problem on the page you mentioned as I have modified manually this article.

Now, have a look to this article I have used for testing today your newest RL 1.6.6:
    https://www.linuxrouen.fr/wp/a-propos/
This article was created with WP 4.3.1 and RL 1.6.5 awa the 1st image which was-is still okay with both WP 4.3.1 and 4.4.

But for the 2nd and 3rd images I just added less than 1 hour ago, I’m facing to the problem I have mentioned earlier.
When I have a look at the code in this article, it’s missing what I have written in a previous post: “[caption …..[/caption], it’s missing the reference to the full size image”.
If I add manually the missing code, then again the picture can be displayed in its own window!

For example what I have for the 2nd image with WP 4.4 and RL 1.6.6 (or 1.6.5) and which is not working:
    [caption id="attachment_83" align="alignleft" width="300"]<img class="size-medium wp-image-83" src="https://www.linuxrouen.fr/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/linux-rouen_liberez-vous_blue-300x174.jpg" alt="Distributions GNU/Linux : une ReNaissance pour votre ordinateur ! " width="300" height="174" /> Distributions GNU/Linux : une ReNaissance pour votre ordinateur ![/caption]

And what I have after manual modification and which is well working as expected:

I have found this workaround almost a week ago after analyzing the codes on already working and published articles (i.e. with WP 4.3.1 and RL 1.6.5) and the new ones created or modified (WP 4.4 and RL 1.6.5 or 1.6.6).

The first piece of code does not contain a link, just an image. It can’t work with RL.

The decision whether you have a link or just an image is on the user side while inserting image and has nothing to do with Responsive Lightbox.

When you insert an image link into you post content – then there’s a room for RL to work.

So something must have changed in your WP install or theme that is related to WordPress version.
