WP 4.3, spam plugin, and media files

    We updated to WordPress 4.3 in the middle of last week but since yesterday we have been unable to upload media (pictures) with our posts when a spam plugin is turned on.

    Before yesterday we were using the plugin “Anti-spam by CleanTalk.” I thought it was a plugin conflict so I deactivated it and installed Akismet. It worked for an hour or so but then the same problem occurred: Whenever a spam plugin is activated, we can’t upload media to posts.

    Akismet only interacts with comments and shouldn’t be causing the issue you describe. Since you’re also seeing it with other plugins, it sounds like something else is causing this.

    Can you try disabling all other plugins to see if the problem persists? Alternatively, you could enable debug on your site to see if the logs point you towards the underlying issue:
