    Hi,

After upgrading from 4.0 to 4.2, I’m getting a apache segmentation fault whenever trying to update any of the plugins. The steps to replicate it is simply clicking on the Dashboard -> Updates and checking any of the plugins (and/or ALL of the plugins available for update) -> entering the FTP credentials (same ones used to update to 4.2 -> click on “Proceed” button and I see the following on screen:

    https://screencast.com/t/RNb6fwfEmS2N

Apache logs show the following entries whenever I try to run the plugin and/or theme update:

[Sat Apr 25 19:55:57 2015] [notice] child pid 20409 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Apr 25 19:55:57 2015] [notice] child pid 20413 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

Restarted apache and tried again and still the same issue.

Any suggestion on how to troubleshoot further?

    Thx,

    SW

  • Same here when I try to update plugins or do a core update from 4.2 to
    4.2.1

    Apache/2.2.22
    PHP 5.3.10

If I try to update to wp 4.2.1, I get an apache segmentation fault when wp tries to go to maintenance mode before overwrite core files.
Tried with a clean install of wp also: same result

It seems fixed now with WP 4.2.2
