Beside the faulty View editor for widgets I reported recently, I just noticed that the options for which pages the widgets are to be displayed on have disappeared (I have the Display Widgets plug in activated). The Widget logic field of all widgets is empty, even the ones that had entries there before! The widgets still seem to be displaying on the correct pages, but I can no longer change which pages they appear on. I suppose I could use the widget logic field for any new widgets, but I don’t want to touch that for existing widgets for fear of lousing up the current settings. I hope someone can tell me how to solve this problem since we rely on widgets for many uses. We have been using the DisplayWidgets plug-in for years (currently on version 2.6) with no previous problems.
Since there have been many other reports of problems with the widgets in 4.8, whomever is responsible for the change in widget editing in WP48 should be looking into this and tell us how to fix it!

  • If there’s an issue, the issue would be with the Display Widgets plugin, and you’d have more luck enquiring in its support forums.

I’d point you in the right direction, but I can’t find a plugin with that exact name, or version.

It’s possible that it’s an older plugin that has been discontinued, and WordPress has just finally reached a point where it’s no longer compatible, and you’ll need to find an alternative.

Updating to Display Widgets SEO Plus restored the location options in the Widget editor.
