WP 4.7.4 password protected page not working

  • I’m using WP 4.7.4 and Twenty Seventeen theme v1.2, no modifications. I’ve disabled all plugins and cleared browser cache.

    I’ve made a password protected page and post and published it.

    When logged out of dashboard and accessing page or post, I am not asked for the password and the page displays as if it were not password protected.

    Why?

    My page has three links and the password protection on the post and page is not working when I log out of dashboard and attempt to view the post and page. I am not asked for a password. I’m using Chrome browser on my MacBook Pro and have cleared browser cache numerous times.

    I’m having the same issue. Super frustrating. In my case it works on Mac/Safari, as well as Mac/FF…but not Mac Chrome, nor iOS/Safari—but it DOES work on iOS/CHROME. Just bizarre.

    Any luck with this, @cnymike?
