    I restored a backup of WP 3.8.1. The plugin works but it takes a long time to return the data from imdb.com.

    The problem might be on their end. Maybe they upgraded their site.

    It might be time for a version 2.0 of the plugin.

    Well, it seems that the speed is back to normal this morning. After checking the source code for the plugin, I noticed that it uses information from the website https://www.omdbapi.com/. Accessing imdb information directly from the site was also very slow. I left feedback on the site and now everything seems okay.
