• When trying to upload an image .jpg file to my library, I’m taken away from my Dashboard and directly to my blog’s Home page with a message stating “Not Found. Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.”

I wonder if anyone else experienced this problem and whether there’s something I should do first to avoid the issue?

I regularly adopt the new versions suggested, but I haven’t tried to upload new media images for a very long time, probably a couple years. This trouble may be unrelated to the new version if it started before but I was not aware. The last Theme I uploaded, which is the one I currently use is Twenty-Ten, version 1.4. I was able to change the image successfully and I’m not trying to change that image. I just need to add a new one for a blog I’m working on.

    Would someone like to help?

    Thanks!

  • I’ve been having some media upload trouble after upgrading to 3.4.2 as well. =/ Every time i attempt to create a new post and upload media, it appears as if there’s a bottom box that contains the upload buttons info that cuts off. It’s obviously seems like its part of this update and therefore i can not upload any media. Any help!!?

    Thanks

It is forum policy that you start your own thread.

Check your settings in dashboard, settings, media and make sure if this wp-content/uploads is in the “Store uploads in this folder” box it does not have a / in front of it.

You also should change to twenty twelve to rule out a theme problem.

@kmessinger, thank you for the effort. I could not find the issue as you indicated, the “Store uploads in this folder” does not have a / in front of it. I also went to the Twenty Eleven–the Twenty Twelve apparently is not public yet. However, now I lost the image I had on the Twenty Ten and the same problem uploading new images prevents me from correcting this.

I’m sorry to request more help on this issue, but if there’s anyone who experienced this same issue, it would help me to learn how to resolve both. Is there a way to return to my old Twenty Ten, since that one had the banner image I want for my Blog, the one I was used to?

    Thanks for your help!

You should be able to choose twenty ten in the dashboard under appearance.

@kmessinger, thanks. I’m back on Twenty Ten, but I still have the issue of not being able to upload media.

Is there anyone who experienced a similar issue and learned how to resolve it? The issue, repeating the explanation from above:

When trying to upload an image .jpg file to my library, I’m taken away from my Dashboard and directly to my blog’s Home page with a message stating “Not Found. Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.”

Any assistance on this will be highly appreciated.

Check, by ftp or by logging in to your hosted account that you have a directory wp-contents/uploads/2012 and the permissions are set to 755.

I have the same issue on 3.4.2 since upgrade
Images in 5 sizes have been uploaded and can be found in the uploads folder in either the year/month location or if Settings/Media ‘Organize my’ tick box is unticked in the uploads folder.
File permissions on all folders and files are all OK.
Using a browser and the url shows the image with no problems
Problems exists on any theme with all plugins removed.
Contents of wp-admin & wp-content replaced with new files as suggested elsewhere.

    Any other ideas??

I continue to have the upload problem. I’ve checked everything and I can’t troubleshoot it. If anyone experienced a similar problem, please let me know where to look for the corrective action. Thanks!

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

I tested _all_ suggestions and can’t get the image upload to work.
