    Hello

The Broken Link Checker has corrupted my login page – with the following error message:

    /home/myaccount/public_html/myblog.com/wp-content/plugins/broken-link-checker/core/core.php on line 2778

I deleted the phugin using FTP and added an php.ini file in the /blog folder (with “short_open_tag = On” in it) – but still not working.

Can anyone please advise on a login workaround?

    Thanks in advance

    Ray

  • Is the error exactly the same after deleting that plugins directory?

    Yes.

    Thanks

    Ray

Ok the reason I find this difficult to believe (apologies) is that the file should no longer be there – and hence it shouldn’t be able to find it to point to a line!

erm do you have any cache plugins active?

Have cleaned the cache on IE and rechecked. Problem still there.

Eh – not absolutely sure which are activated but the plugin directory includes:

    db-cache-reloaded
    wp-hashcash

… though do believe that these are not activated.

    Thanks

well rename all just to make sure. (or rename the plugins directory – which I usually don’t suggest)

Thanks – had to get a developer to triple the memory size.

Suggest all to be aware of this problem when using Broken Links Checker plugin.

I’m getting a blank admin page once I activate Broken Link Checker, I have no cache plugins active, I saw that metlondon had a ‘developer triple the memory size’ can you clarify for me what was done exactly to work around this problem?

    Thanks

I emailed the Broken Link developer and have received no reply.

I believe that my developer tripled the cache memory to x32 – there is a memory somewhere (Google/Search forum, I suggest) that hosting companies don’t change to save on server usage.

Suggest however that you delete the plugin via FTP and this should allow you to login at least.

Hope this is of some use.

Thanks for the reply R you pointed me in the right direction – I have now got to the bottom of the issue, it was a php execution issue, which resulted in the infamous ‘white screen of death’ within wordpress. This was affecting a handful of other plugins too.

Apparently my host set this at 32 MB… I was able to alter the memory allocated to php by adding this line to my .htaccess file php_value memory_limit ?M replacing the ? with 64.

    Everything works fine now.
