WP 3.0 combines WP and WPMU.
I need to know whether the FREE wordpress.com blogs will come with the WPMU feature?
How does the WPMU feature look like, will it be like a widget or a plug-in that is on the free wordpress.com blog and that just needs to be activated?

You’d have to ask on wordpress.com – .org is for self-hosted and generally is a bit … mmm ahead? of the .com site in those ways.

My guess would be it would be a paid feature, BTW, but that’s a guess.

    Off course not.
Wordpress.com is already a wpmu install.
So all blogs under wordpress.com are already subblogs.

I don’t think it is, actually. I mean, if WPMU was what’s running WP.com, then Donncha would never have been the SOLE developer for so long!

WPMU, WP and WP.com are different beasties. Or were ??

wp.com runs like a modified version of wpmu. ?? I doubt each blog on the .com will get the ability to have a network.
