    Hi guys,

I was loving wp 3.0. I have been using a premium theme and zeroed in on the plug-ins I like for months.I had been using it for months all through RC1&2 never a problem.

About 2 hours ago I published a new post. I got a surge of traffic and boing my site broke. The formatting of the theme went crazy on the front end, and in the admin the admin theme is broken now just showing basic outlines of boxes, no shading or css and no slick ajaxy drop-downs.

I backed up my DB. Dropped tables, and just did a reinstall of a fresh load of WP3.0 logged-in to the back-end and the thing is still busted. I’m going to restart my server I’m on a vps running centos with cpanel and PHP 5.x

Please advise what else to do…

Try resettings your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename everything except the /twentyten/ directory. This will force the Twenty Ten theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (it’s rare, but some themes can affect the admin area too).

Resolved. I rebuilt the server, re-installed WP, re-added plugins one by one, then dumped the database tables using PHPmyAdmin. I re-imported my previously saved database, and everything’s back except for the images. I have to re-add all the images for the site, I’m not sure what happened to break the site, but whatever, I’ve got it back now and that’s all that counts.
