WP 2.8 Custom Header API – HEADER BACKGROUND COLOR

Hey there,

while implementing the new custom header API in one of my templates i discovered that it is possible to add a custom image to the header, but no custom background color?

Can anyone confirm this, or did i miss some API for doing so?

I would like to have the ability to enter a simple HEX Code to define the background color of my header.
