WP 2.5 Site Hacked from the Ground Up

Hi there,

My site is at https://euphoricreality.com. Not only was the theme changed to something else, but they (as you can see) pretty much trashed the place, and also deleted the following:

– User tables
– Post tables going back two years (I’m an investigative blogger so this hit me hard)
– Comments (obviously)

I’ve talked to the host (Hostgator) and they say they make weekly backups but they “don’t know if they can restore them.” How does THAT work?

At any rate, what can I do here? How can I prevent this from occurring again? I had a strong admin password, I upgraded whenever there were updates, and I’ve followed the “rules.” Never had this happen to this extent before.
