WP 2.3 and 2.23 loading slowly

Hello,

I noticed right before I upgraded to 2.2.3 and 2.3 that my blog https://ooof.ca/blog, was taking forever to load, often timing out with an “Internet Explorer could not display this page” error. When I hit refresh, 9/10 times it shows up, and the other time it turns out my entry hasn’t been saved.

Does anybody know why this would be happening? I don’t have an unusual number of pictures on my site, nor do I have a lot of plugins activated.

I would really appreciate it if somebody could look into it, or give me pointers on what to look at.

(I’m not sure if this is related but when backing up my database before upgrading, it said the database for my blog of just over a year old, was 11.8MB. I don’t post a lot of pictures so I’m wondering if that’s not a lot).
