• OK… I must have read every post regarding the 2.2 upgrade, visual editor, TinyMCE and Firefox, but nobody has described the issue I encounter:

I have a static home page that I’m trying to edit and no matter what I do in Visual or Code mode, certain changes I make are not being saved. And every time I save, the formatting I have done gets messed up.

Among other things, paragraph breaks are getting stripped out even if I add P tags as code with non-breaking spaces.

I have confirmed the theme and plugins I’m using are 2.2 compatible and followed the procedures recommended in these forums to revive the editor buttons, but his formatting issue has become quite frustrating.

Has anybody else encountered this issue?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thansk!

  • This sounds a little like the Edit Page bug where, if the page is too long, it won’t save anything.

Does the length of the post change the error (ie: If you shorten the post then save it – will it save everything properly)?

    What did you upgrade from?

Is this the same issue as in “WYSIWYG editor losing HTML on 2.1“?

The page is very short. Or at least it was when I encountered the issue.

I was able to fix it by manually tweaking the code and being sure to click save from code mode. If I ever have to edit the page, I must be sure to make the tweaks again or paragraph breaks get stripped out and HTML gets bullied around.

Yes, I could edit in code mode by default, but I like the way image uploads are handled in WYSIWYG mode.

converting2wp: Yes this does sound similar to issues in that thread which don’t appear to have been resolved. I upgraded from v. 2.1.3
