WP 2.0.2 xmlrpc upload problem

  • Ticket #2202 indicates the xmlrpc problem with file uploads was fixed in 2.0.1. I have been struggling with what I think is the same error in 2.0.2 [I upgraded directly from 1.5.2].

    Am I correct there is a still a problem in this area – relevant to such as ecto users?

    I found a workaround to the ecto file upload error “Method “metaWeblog.newMediaObject” produced a server error: “Could not write file <imageFileName>”.

    I replaced 2.0.2 xmlrpc.php with the V1.5.2 file that I had archived. Now ecto works loverly as usual.

    What’s an Ecto — and does it have support forums too?

    Ecto is a blog client for os x. It does have support forums but a great number of mac users use ecto to post to their wordpress blog. And at the moment one of the biggest issues is the fact that apparently the xml rpc does not “support” image uploading correctly. Please don’t ask me what I mean by does not support, I just am writing what I have read, and also I know it just doesnt work because I run two blogs which both are having troubles uploading images.
