WP 1.5.1.1 MySQL issues
-
I use Yahoo Professional Business Hosting, and I’ve been running WordPress for quite some time with no problems. A few weeks ago, I started having issues connecting to MySQL with wordpress giving me the generic can’t connect to mysql error page. Since I’ve upgraded to 1.5.1.1, this problem has increased in severity to the poing of my domain being down more often than its up. Every time I go to post something, or someone grabs my rss feed, or visits the site, mysql goes offline and I can’t even administer it via phpMyAdmin. It comes back online after 10 minutes or so. The sites I’m using are https://quicksurf.com/ and https://linux.quicksurf.com/ among a few others on the same domain. My wp-config.php files are configured correctly, and I blew away all the files and pushed up a fresh copy of 1.5.1.1 and ran upgrade.php on all the sites, and for the most part, when mysql is up, it works fine, but as soon as I try to do anything in WP it goes offline. I’m not sure if it’s WP or Yahoo, but I’ve got an email into their customer support to see if there’s anything on their end. Everything has been running like a champ until a few weeks ago when I moved off of 1.5 and went to 1.5.1 then 1.5.1.1. I’ve considered the fact that I may be overloading Yahoo’s MySQL server, but that’s doesn’t seem likely. I’ve only got posts up into around 1600 or so, so it’s not a huge database.
The PHP version and MSQL version are high enough for WP, and WP has been running great up until now. As soon as I can get back into my site, I’ll try to get the exact version of MySQL from phpmyadmin, and I’m not sure how to get the PHP version, but I know its 4 dot something…
Any help could be appreciated.
