• Wow this plugin is fantastic. Easy to deploy, extremely powerful out of the box for free. I am now going to explore paid options as this solves so many challenges and eliminates the need for virtually all optimization plugins. My sense is that a Redis service with the associated plugin is likely all that is needed once you setup Jetpack Boost.

Update after a few months: This plugin is AMAZING! You really need to experiment with the settings to see what works for your site. I found that the “Optimize Critical CSS Loading (manual)” causes way more problems than it was worth on my site, and even lowered scores on https://pagespeed.web.dev/ but once you get the right combination of settings for your site it is a wonderful addition to your toolset. At the moment, I use Jetpack Boost an the excellent Redis caching plugin “Redis Object Cache“. I’m not sure how the new Jetpack Boost “Cache Site Pages” feature will work with Redis. So far, it seems fine and may be offering a slight improvement.

FInally, the built in Jetpack Boost “Overall Score” test is excellent. It uses the same lighthouse service as google pagespeed insights and returns very similar results without even having to leave the settings page.

I would recommend anyone who can afford it to go for the paid service, but for many who are just starting out, Jetpack has hit a homerun with the free offering to get you started.
