• Hi Vlad,

I’d like a WP plugin to display a button on certain pages of my site, but ONLY to my paid members (I’ll have FREE and PAID members).

So far, this tool can’t communicate with my membership plugin.

But this plugin may be able to conditionally display that button based on WP user roles.

So my question is: could I create 2 new roles in User Role Editor (that I would name FREE and PAID for example), but give them the exact same restrictions as the Subscriber default role?

    Many thanks.

    Hi Laurent,

URE (free version) does not have functionality for conditional output.

URE Pro offers shortcode, which can show text (including HTML) inside for the role(s) listed in the shortcode parameters. If current user does not have that role, then text is not shown.

    Thanks Vladimir.

I have no intention of using URE to display conditional output.

What I’d like to do is to use it to create user roles that another plugin can detect and act accordingly when a page is loaded.

Why? Because that other plugin adds a bunch of functionalities to this conditional ouptput that URE can’t manage.

So I’m wondering if I could create those 2 new roles (that I will name “Free” and “Paid”) if they have the same exact provileges and restrictions than the “Subscriber” role by default.

PS: I’m not a techie guy.

    Thanks a lot :-).

    Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, Using URE you can create absolutely identical (by granted capabilities) roles, just with different ID and names.

    Take care,
