Would PHP 4 cause issues?

  • My blog at https://bob.ravensbeak.com is running very slowly, and I’m seeing timeouts when I try to upgrade plugins via the Dashboard.

    PHP 4.4.6 is installed on the (shared) server. Any chance the PHP version is causing WP to not like where it is? What kind of problems (if any) would I be seeing?

  • I know this – when I do installs for folks I always get the php upgraded to 5.x.x – I have more troubleshooting in general when on php 4.x.x

    The host has offered to move me to another server that is running 5.x.x, so I think I may do that. I have to check my plugins and addons though, and some other stuff I have on other subdomains.
