Would have been helpful, but does not work

While it does rewrite the htaccess file, it uses quoted characters in a way that makes the htaccess inoperable. So I ended up doing this: https://docs.easydigitaldownloads.com/article/247-modifying-edd-htaccess-file-rules instead.
