worprress doesn`t recognise password or send email

    Hello,

    I cannot log in to my website.
    I tried Remind the password but when I put my name or email, nothing happens. There is just page refresh and it asks again to input the name or email
    What shall I do?
    I dont know anything about servers, coding etc.

  • have you tried using the “lost your password” link?

    If you have access to your control panel and PHPMyAdmin you can select the wp_user table. You should see a list of users just press the edit button next to the user you want to edit then look for the wp_pass field and changes the function to md5 and enter a new password then try to login with your new password.

    I am not able to find it, it looks a bit different on the server I use apparently.
    At this point, i can only open the home page of my website, but when I click any link, I get 404 error. I guess it is sth about .htaccess file, as I had to add ssl certificate and from this moment I have some problems. unfortunately, I have no idea what to do now since I also cannot log in to wordpress.
    is there anything i can do now?

    You might want to talk to your hosting service. They can help you with getting access to cpanel or getting to your database. No one can access your site without knowing the username and password. You really don’t want to give that out to someone you don’t know. Talk to your hosting company.

    Hi I did as you asked, but it gave me first Error establishing database connection and the website was down. I modified wp-config.php and I see the website again, but still i cannot access the wordpress site or to request a new password. what do I do wrong?

    i paid someone to fix it. thank you!

    i am having similar issue like joannaka but in my side, i can fix some problem from the server, like changing password, etc

    each time i try to login in my admin dashboard especially when password is correct the log direct me to the homepage. and If passowrd or username is incorrect, it does nothing just a shake as normally.

    if i asking lost password i get the error message like this Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below.
