• Wasn’t sure where to post this but I thought the WordPress user community might like to know that at 6am GMT in the UK a WordPress/Thesis based blog

    https://www.trefor.net/2012/01/05/world-record-attempt-for-most-comments-on-an-online-news-item-in-24-hours-has-started-comment24-rnli/

is attempting a Guinness World Records? Record for most comments on an online news post in 24 hours.
There is quite a bit of info on the blog about the Cisco UCS blade centre platform being used – the record needs to be at least 100k comments in 24 hours. It would be good if other WordPress users could show support by leaving a comment – starts 6am Thursday 5th Jan.
We are also logging the progress so will have plenty of data to show how the software held up under the stress of the expected visitor numbers.
There is a large online marketing campaign happening to support the record attempt and we will be tweeting using the #comment24 hashtag. This is also a charity fundraiser – the benefitting charity being the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)
Thanks in advance for any support
    Tref
