• This plugin seems to be exactly what I was looking for: an easy way for users to post previews of external links in their blog posts. But there’s something I can’t figure out.

I’m using the BuddyBlog plugin to allow users to create their own blogs on a BuddyPress site I’m creating. I was pleasantly surprised to find that your plugin works in this context. That is, blog posts displayed at:

    [url]/members/[username]/buddyblog/

show the preview (featured image, post excerpt and link).

The same is true for single post view:

    [url]/members/[username]/buddyblog/my-posts/[post-number]/

So far so good. The strange thing is, the plugin doesn’t display the preview in the post summary for the same post on the regular blog page, which displays summaries of posts by all users:

    [url]/posts

How can I get the preview to display here too?

    Thanks.

By “the preview” do you mean just the image or the whole thing including text?

If it’s “just” the image, then it’s probable that the theme is looking for featured images on your local server. The preview images are “just” links in the post content and not featured images hosted locally on your system.

The theme would have to be modified to look for linked images if no local, featured, images were available for the post.
