Works well, easy to customize

Thank you to the developers of this excellent theme. I am using it currently for my portfolio and I found it easy to create a custom child theme and set up multiple portfolios using the tags as a filter.

I’m an experienced WordPress developer, and I noticed that the images can be tricky to work with – what I would recommend if you have trouble is to create a template based on where the theme crops the images, and then use that template for all your featured images. I did this by taking one of the sample images from the demo, uploading it to a post, and screenshotting where the image got cropped for different breakpoints. Then I assembled the template in photoshop based on the screenshots and created my “safe zone” where all the important image content falls into.

There are some nice fixes to things I wanted to change on the support forum, so I snagged those snippets – and it seems the developer is very quick to respond on the forums. I didn’t run into any trouble, but if I needed help, it’s nice to know.

Most of all – the page loads quickly (something great for a folio!), looks beautiful out of the box, and validates with all my favorite tried-and-true plugins.
