Works well but repeating events?

  • This calendar works very well and is responsive. The only shortcoming is I can’t see any way to set recurring events. Maybe I’m missing something?

    You are not missing anything – recurring events is an advanced piece of functionality that comes with Events Calendar PRO, one of our premium addons for The Events Calendar.

    It allows you to build and manage almost any imaginable pattern of events: never-ending events, exclusions and multiple events taking place on the same day are all supported, to name just a few highlights.

    I’m afraid, though, this is not available in our free, core plugin (The Events Calendar) itself.

    Hmmmm. I can get repeating events using the core plugin, except when the event falls on, say, the third Thursday of the month. There doesn’t seem to be a way to indicate this. I’m wondering why Barry says you have to have PRO. The functionality is there, but not dependable? Incomplete? Thanks.

    I take it back . . . I didn’t realize we had PRO installed.

    Then the question becomes, can PRO handle recurring events that happen, say, on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month? I’m not seeing a way.
