Works well

  • I have many client sites that do not use the post functionality at all. I have tried this plugin on one fresh site, and it greatly reduces the Admin clutter. Thank you; it is a good idea.

    Some suggestions:
    Please do not disable the Dashboard or at least make its display optional. The Dashboard is not just about Post functionality. Many plugins display valuable information there.

    I have had many sites receive spam comments even when comment functionality is not displayed on the front end. Is all comment functionality completely disabled with this plugin or does it just hide the comment options from the admin? If the latter, there should be some notification about this so users can set the comment options before enabling the plugin.

    Thank you for taking the time to review our plugin. We just made an update based on all of the feedback that we’ve been getting which includes the following:

    1. Restoring the “Dashboard” menu
    2. Disabling blog related meta boxes on the dashboard
    3. Setting “static page” as the default under “front page displays” in Settings > Reading and preventing the user from switching to “latest posts”

    To answer you question: this plugin completely disables the comment functionality for your WordPress site. Even though the WordPress core allows you to turn off comments, some themes override that setting an re-enable comments with their own template. As a solution, we’ve set up a blank template to override the theme and prevent the theme’s commenting function from running.

    Thank you for the updates. Knowing that the plugin completely disables the comment functionality at the template level, I can now heartily recommend this for my clients.
